Riders with larger hands, or those who prefer thicker grips, will be better served by the ESI Chunky grip. The ESI Chunky and the Extra Chunky have a diameter of 32 mm and 34 mm respectively and weigh 60 g and 80 g respectively. The Racer's Edge grips are fairly thin, and work well for riders with smaller hands, or those that simply prefer thinner grips. The Racers Edge offers a diameter of 30 mm with a record weight of only 50 g. The "Extra Chunky", "Chunky" and "Racers Edge" differ only in the grip diameter and the resulting small weight difference. ![]() In addition, the grips are free of latex and can be shortened with a sharp knife, so the grips are compatible with Grip Shift.ĮSI offers the right grips for every application and taste. The design of the ESI grip provides a thicker and thinner side for optimal shock absorption without being too bulky. Silicone deforms temporarily due to the heat generated by the hand, so that the grip adapts optimally to the shape of the hand after a short riding period. Installed, the grips measure 5-1/8' in length and 30mm in diameter. It saves around 10 grams from the ESI Chunky grip for the weight obsessed and a good choice for those who prefer the feel of thin grips. The handles are UV resistant, become neither porous nor hard and do not deform permanently. The ESI Racer's Edge grip is the thinner of the two. Silicone also offers the ability to absorb shocks and vibrations better than conventional grips, resulting in less numbness and fatigue in the hands.
